@Marcus Rideout ofc! Wrote my comment with tongue in a cheek, as a jokeful comment. You got good content
@Shoetari all good 🙂

Great content! Just curious, what if they say yes to the hesitation question? I.e “Only back out if I don’t like the video” or something like that.
What would be the proper response?
Heya Timara!
Has that happened to you? I bet hearing that would feel like it could throw you off.
Typically by that point in a sales meeting you are already with a qualified customer that has seen some of your work, who has filled out a Discovery Form (pre-meeting application form – you can learn more here: https://thevideowarriors.com/discovery-form-guide/) and you’ve already explored their expectations as well as fears with moving forward.
If they agree to pay the deposit and are stoked on the project (ie: the typical response you get from the “right fit” folks from following this process), that’s an unlikely “response” to come up.
Not saying it can’t, however typically when following the sales process if you get to that point of inviting them into a project it’s cause you feel a good connection with them and feel you can help them. Chances are they will have seen some of your work ahead of time too, so
If it DOES happen, if they DO say, “I’ll back out if I don’t like the video” – if I heard something like that I’d likely choose not to work with them (me personally, not saying that’s for everyone), because it feels like them trying to control the power of the relationship, where as an ideal client is hiring you because they TRUST you to lead them 🙂
That sort of language feels like a “red flag” to me and typically those “red flags” can be determined well before this point in a sales meeting (ie:you can learn a lot from their discovery form application). The last thing you’d want is to be in a position where you’re going above and beyond, trying to please someone who has standards that you don’t know how to quantify (ie: “what is their criteria for what makes a good video?”). That sorta thing leads to endless revisions and not getting paid for all the extra time put into it.
That’s my two cents anyways, what do you think?
@Marcus Rideout thanks so much !!!
@It’s Timara you’re welcome 🙂
